DAVID McCORMICK KAUFMAN
David McCormick Kaufman moved to Larchmont in the 1930s. He first
resided in an apartment at 14 North Chatsworth Avenue with his parents
and two younger brothers, Allen and Frank. He attended Mamaroneck High
School for one year and then attended the Westminster School in
Simsbury, CT. By 1940 he was living at 11 Clark Court and then his
family moved to 10 Linden Ave. They attended Larchmont Avenue Church and
David was a member of the Horseshoe Harbor Club. After graduation from
high school, he worked for Philips Export Co. before joining the US
Navy. He became a flight instructor in June, 1943, and was killed in an
airplane crash on a training flight in Pensacola, Florida on December
13, 1943. |
