Art
Graham signed up with the U.S. Army, on October 29th,
1942. He served with the 9th Army Air Force
Service Command as a medic and obtained the rank of
corporal.
He
was stationed in England until D-Day and then was part
of the 9th Air Force campaigns across Europe.
He was involved with the Air Offensive Europe,
Rhineland. (General Order 33, published by the War
Department, 1945.)
He was
involved with the Bronze Star Campaigns in France,
receiving the European-African-Middle Eastern Service
Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory
Medal.
He
was proud of his service and always felt like he was, “A
small cog in the machine that stopped Hitler.”
